March 23, 2007 Is Michelle's Birthday

Hey, guess what? Today is Michelle's Birthday. Share your favorites memories of Michelle on this post throughout the day.

I remember the time that Michelle came down to visit me in L.A. with all of her Stanford friends who slept over at my appartment.

I remember the time that Michelle came to visit me in the Bay Area and check out the Stanford School of Education. We road cable cars.
I remember the time we went surfing in Santa Cruz. Michelle was really good.
I also remember that we may have gone hiking together once or twice (but not on the day pictured here, but you get the idea).
Add your own memories and pictures that may or may not be related to them... You can send them to me.

Sunday night Justin's aunt and uncle that live in Roy invited us over for desert as their eldest daughter was in town with her two kids. Justin's sister Heather was their as well with her kids. Needless to say there were lots of babies about Addie's age running around and kids that were a little bit older. It was so fun to watch Addie ...she was crawling around following this 18 mos old girl around everywhere. Then she was trying to crawl over or plow over a little boy just two mos older than her. she also licked him on the head. It was hilarious. She was way more social than any of the other kids. The point of this long ramble is this...We are very excitied to see you all in a few weeks. I know Addie is going to have a grand time with all the kids. :)

Pismo Beach

Almost two weeks ago I went to Pismo Beach, and now I am finally getting around to blogging about it. I don't have much photgraphic evidence of the trip, except this picture.

Of course, my eyes are closed because I always seem to find a way to close my eyes in pictures. I think this one would have been one to hold onto if I had my eyes open. Unfortunately, both of the girls in the picture are unavailable (one of them is dating my roommate). But, neither of their SO's were at Pismo Beach.
The weekend was good; I had some of my personal best surfing at the Pismo Beach Pier (which still isn't that good, but it is my personal best). It was also fun to see people from Palo Alto mix with my new friends from L.A. I did have some car trouble on the way back, which took a chunk out of my meager "rainy day" fund, but I guess you can't make it through life without a little car trouble.

Kate lost her first tooth yesterday. We tried 4 times to get it out. The first two times we tied thread around her tooth and slammed the door. That didn't work because the thread kept breaking. So we tried yarn. Robert tied it tight around her tooth and then gave a good yank. Out it came! Kate was so brave! Of course, Robert yanked so hard that for a while we couldn't find the missing tooth. We spent at least 15 minutes on our hands and knees looking for the tooth. Finally, it was found and placed under Kate's pillow. She was thrilled that the tooth fairy found her. She received a special note from the fairy and two dollars. She is ready to buy dinner for all! She has now discovered a source of fairly easy cash and intends to keep working on her other teeth!

Addie's Oouchie

Yippee! I was finally able to post these pictures. The first picture is of Addie's Oochie with the split on. Yes her pinky is really in there even though it looks like a strange growth coming off of her hand. The second pic is of her two stitches. (What you can't see is that the other side of her finger is completely black and blue.) The rest are just cute pics of our adorable little girl and her pig tails.
Ok...I have been trying to post pictures of Addie for 2 days with no luck...what gives! I keep getting and error saying the page cannot be displayed...I'll keep trying.

A Weekend for the Ages.

A long time in coming, but here are some pictures from a marvelous weekend...

The occasion: Karren's birthday meant out of town visitors, including Dave Johnson and Steve Nielson (photographer extraordinaire--yay, Strawbs!) and Steve Stay, Sarah's friend from freshman year.

Event 1: Biking across the Golden Gate Bridge. Every time I take a visitor across the Golden Gate bridge, it rains.

But we were undaunted.

Here we are before any serious rain:

And post-rain:

And wrestling in the mud (it was all just too, too much fun):

Wet, muddy, happy:

Event 2: Manicure for Science

After the city, Reija and I rushed home to Tina's Nails to receive a free manicure as part of a marketing study for a student at the GSB. What a life.

Event 3: Karren's Birthday Waffle Extravaganza

We fit a remarkable number of people into our home, and Karren oversaw the production of a remarkable number of waffles. Happy tummies, happy people, happy Karren, happy birthday.

Fantastic weekend.
