Big Birthday Bash!

We decided to celebrate the Boys' Birthday's together this year, since Sam has no real concept of time or birthday's we knew he wouldn't mind sharing his big day, and one party is easier on Mom than two....well Maybe? Jake is totally into transportation...if it has wheels he loves it! So, a Cars themed party was the order of the day. Jake had a Lighting McQueen Cake...courtesy of Wilton cake pans. Every year I have this crazy notion I can make the cake look just as professional and perfect as the insert in the pan shows, but around midnight I'm done trying and vow just to buy a cake next year. It was double trouble this year with McQueen one night and Mater the next. It's a tradition that year 1 you get your very own cake to demolish. Sam, sam, had to get a Mater....which didn't turn out to bad considering I dreamed him up all on my own with only a push car as a guide....plus isn't Mater suppose to look a little broken down?

We can't believe our Sam is one year old!!! I know I felt and lived every minute of the year, but where did all that time go....it must have been the sleep deprivation that tricks the brain. Sam is a jolly soul, who finds extreme delight in most everything. I love to make him chuckle and keep him for sleep some day...just because he is laughing at me. He has a strong opinion about most everything. Loves to be in the middle of the fun and commotion of the house...and follows Jake and Addie around like a little puppy. I can't believe we ever lived without him.

Jake turned the big 3 this year! Much to my amazement (because he fought me tooth and nail) he is even potty trained. I really thought he might be the first kid ever to go to college in a diaper. He is so fun loving and mischievious. He loves to go, go , go....just like his cars. He love to jump off things, throw things, crash things, and kick things. Total Boy! He was so excitied for his birthday this year and kept asking me," Mom, you make my party?" We love our silly little guy!
