"what do you get from eating Christmas ornaments? Tinselitis...HAHAHAH"

Jake swallowed to many Christmas Ornaments this year and had to get his tonsils removed. He was such a little trooper. He was a little nervous when we first arrived at the hospital but as soon as he warmed up he was having a great time.
This is Grumpy...a little orange bear he received before going into surgery.
He played Hide-n-seek while we were waiting to be taken back...he moved all the curtains so the nurses and doctors couldn't see him. Dr. Richards (Our Surgeon) played a round before taking Jake to the OR.
Feeling a little emotional...I was worried how he and I would handle the final separation, but Jake helped me through by smiling the whole time...He was pretty excited to sport a new hat and go for a ride in the hospital bed.
Not so happy in recovery...he started sobbing when they brought us back to him...which broke my heart. I climbed up in bed with him to cuddle and hold him close and he soon calmed down after we got him to take some pain medication.  He has been groggy smiles ever since...eating Popsicles and watching ample TV.

In which Sam no longer wears diapers!!!

Just a little Blag about my little Sam...I am so proud of him this week. I decided it was time to put more than a lackadaisical effort into potty training.  So I read an e-book about commando potty training your little guy in 3 days. I wasn't sure I could hack the intensity of having Sam literally at my side 24/7 to catch him in the act...but after changing big boy underwear seven times on the first day, having an accident on the coach, and pooping on the carpet in his room when I turned my back for like two seconds...Sam has only had one accident since. He is staying dry through the night and telling me when he needs to go. I really didn't think given Sam's disposition he would take to potty training this well...so thanks for the miracle Sam. Mom is SOOOO PROUD!!!!

Lewis Christmas 2012

Building the anticipation of what is waiting by making the kids wait on the stairs, while mom and dad check things out...so gruel!
Digging into the booty...It was a free for all! I don't know about you but our kids could win a present opening contest...if only I could get them all wrapped that fast.

This happy boy got no less than Two remote control cars and a monster truck....very happy boy!!
Our precious little Lizzie..looks so tiny next to big J.

"Where are MY presents?" Sam literally couldn't get enough...he would have opened everyone's presents if we would have let him.
 Happy Day!!

Songs of Christmas!

One of the things I love most about Christmas is all the glorious music.  I miss all the holiday performing I used to do in my younger days, so when our neighbor across the street put together a little Christmas children's choir...I jumped.
Addie and Jake both enjoyed going to "Singing Lessons" and I enjoyed them being occupied for a  little while. The performance was a blast.  Addie performed so ernastly and Jake...well...he could be still for more than two seconds. He sand and wiggled all over the place. Here's to many more years of fun!

Traditions!

Every year we go and see the lights on Temple Square....it has become a must-do Tradition.
The Kids love the lights, but might like the Hot Cocco that follows even better.
Now that the new City Creek Center is done Macy's is doing Christmas windows.  Jake and Addie were amazed that the giant ornaments were made entirely of candy.
The best family shot we got this year...nobody wanted to sit still or look forward.
