Half Dome

In his 1870 Yosemite Guide-Book, California’s leading geologist Josiah Whitney pronounced Half Dome “perfectly inaccessible” and described it as “the only one of all the prominent points about the Yosemite which never has been and never will be trodden by the human foot.”
Well on July 19, 2008, I proved Josiah Whitney wrong. And I’ve got the pictures to prove it.

The diving board on Half Dome, 8,836 feet above sea level, 4,796 feet above the Yosemite valley floor.

17 miles round trip from the trailhead to the summit.

Two sets of cables help hikers to pulls themselves up the final, steepest ascent to the peak.

My before shot! Just hours away from losing most of my belly! Yeah, for the fastest weightloss ever....too bad the rest doesn't come off that easy. No more Applefritters for me :(
Justin, Baby Jake, and our OB Dr. Fillerup ( Yes that really is her last name and Justin thinks it is hilarious) just mins after he was born.
Proud papa!
Too cute for words!

4th of July cont...

sorry a few last 4th of july pics...I can never get these to post in order..I'm lame. Love this one of Addie on a bouncy toy.
Justin and Addie checking out the fireworks. Addie loved them...but was so tired she didn't know wether to watch or fall asleep. She was a trooper.
Saturday we went to get "Ice" Addie's word for Ice cream. I love this pic I shot on my Camera phone...partly because I think Addie has Marilyn Monroe hair and secondly because she looks like she is just about to lick Justin on the face. She loves her "Ice"

Our 4th of July

We started off the day with Breakfast at IHOP...we were hoping for Doug & Emma's but of course they were closed. Then it was off to the Kaysville Parade to see Ashlee and get some yummy candy. Addie was so excitied to go and kept saying "Hurrah..for the parade!"
Justin shot this pic of my big belly.
Here is the top half...We both look like drowned rats already and the water parade hadn't even started yet!
Ashlee F. helping hose down parade attendees during the water parade.
Justin taking Addie down a big inflatable slide....She wasn't so excitied about it. Too funny since she wants to go to the park and slide everyday.

Leann and Stacy invited us over for a B-Q and to watch fireworks. Here is Addie playing Guitar Hero. She is so funny and crazy when she is so tired she doesn't know what to do with herself.

Bend It Like Beckham

Back in May, John had some free tickets to the L.A. Galaxy from work.So we headed up to see our local soccer star, David Beckham (who is known to frequent Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles in Long Beach with Snoop Dogg). He is also married to Posh Spice. We had a good time. The Galaxy won.

La Quinta

The La Quinta Resort and Spa has long been popular with the Hollywood crowd, since it was first established in the 1920s. So, when work needed someone to help entertain the summer interns during an all-expenses paid weekend to the resort, I did my part as a good company man and volunteered to sacrifice my weekend to stay at the resort.
My bungalow was larger than my apartment in Huntington, so I guess that helped to ease the pain of this annoying little corporate trip.
Oh, and they did feed us filet mignon for dinner. But, the taquitos they served us for appetizers left something to be desired. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain because I hear some people don't even get retreats at their work. Maybe Barack Obama can do something about that.
