Ella loses a tooth...and it's really gone!

Ella was eating lunch today when she bit into something "crunchy", swallowed and continued to eat her sandwich. She decided that she would trick Kate and tell her that she lost her tooth. When Kate wanted to see the evidence, Ella refused on the grounds that her sandwich was good and she would show her "later." Then, Kate, always a seeker of truth watched carefully as Ella ate and then hollered, "Mom, she really did lose it!" To everyone's surprise, no one more so than Ella, her tooth was indeed missing. After some frantic searching, we decided that the crunchy morsel that Ella ate was her tooth. After some initial tears, realizing that she would not have the evidence to show the tooth fairy(Ella has been anticipating for days how this tooth will solve her cash flow problems) we decided that a picture and a note to the fairy explaining what happened should be sufficent to get the desired result. We will keep you posted but I'm fairly certain that even the tooth fairy won't be able to resist this one!

Conversations with the kids

Jackson: Mom, I want to get on your scale to see how big I am.
Me: Okay
Jackson: Is 30 pounds big?
Me: Yes. Very.
Jackson: Mom, your turn. Let's see how big you are!
Me: No, I'd rather not.
Jackson: Because you might break it?

Today in the car:

Jackson: Mom, Grandpa told me he swims like a rock.
Kate: Rocks sink to the bottom.
Ella: That means Grandpa will drown! He needs to take swimming lessons.
Jackson: Mom, we should buy Grandpa a floatie.
Kate: Grown-ups don't need floaties.
Jackson: But he'll sink to the bottom of the pool.
ME: (I try to explain that Grandpa meant that he doesn't swim well but still is able to do it and won't drown. This is about the 5th conversation I've had with the kids about this. They are very concerned. Dad, I think you better go swimming with the kids so they don't have to worry anymore!)

4th of July Mayheim

So I know this is a long time coming but here are a few pics of our 4th of July Antics and other activities with the Reynolds clan. We had so much fun when they were in town....Addie loves having playmates full time. You will have to bug Erica to post pictures from our outing to "This is the Place State Park". They include the kids loving up some Oxen and Addie devouring her first Ice cream cone..a very messy but satisfying experience for her. Mom is just excitied that all the chocolate came out of her clothes. On the 4th we went to the Kaysville parade. The kids loved running for the candy that was thrown into the crowd. We had a great burger fest and then went to fisher park to check out the festivities in clearfield. Highlights included a giant slide and petting a lizard. Then next day we went fishing. All the kids had a great time and our fish fry that night was scrumpous.

We will carefully consider the results and then probably name him whatever the heck we want. Still, it will be interesting to see the results, won't it? P.S. Please don't vote for Austin!!!
